Dosimetric properties of Tb-doped LiF/CaF<sub>2</sub> eutectic composite

We have developed a LiF/CaF2:Tb eutectic composite as novel thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetric material. The was obtained using melt-solidification method with lower melting temperature than that of LiF and CaF2. results the PL emission excitation spectra, X-ray induced radioluminescence decay curve, TL spectrum indicate emissions are due to 4f-4f transitions Tb3+ ion. integrated intensity 3.6 times higher commercial CaSO4:Tm material is known show relatively high intensity. dose response curve measured detection limit 0.01 mGy which lowest value among LiF/CaF2 based composites.
